RDP/ Redispersible Polymer powder is composed of a special polymers made of powder adhesive after spray drying. This powder is contact with water can be dispersed again in soon after forming emulsion, and with the nature of the same as the initial emulsion, namely the film can be formed after the moisture evaporation, the film has high flexibility, high resistance to weathering and on various substrate with high caking property. the powder environmental protection, energy saving, high quality, used for powder materials, dry-mix mortar is an indispensable functional additives.

It can improve the performance of mortar, raise the strength of the mortar, improve the bonding strength of mortar with different base material, improve the mortar flexible and variable line, compressive strength, flexural strength, abrasion resistance and toughness, stick relay and water retention, constructability.

Rdp/Redispersible powder is usually white powder, but there are a few products in other colors. The components of dispersible emulsion powder mainly include the following.
(1) Polymer resin. Polymer resin is located in the core part of rubber powder particles, and is also the main component of dispersible latex powder, such as polyvinylacetate/vinyl resin, styrene/butadiene resin, vinyl/vinylchloride/vinyl laurate resin, etc.
(2) Additives (inside). The additive (inside) plays a role in improving the properties of the resin. For example, a plasticizer that reduces the film forming temperature of the resin. Not every emulsion powder has additives, such as vinylacetate/vinylcopolymer resins do not need to add plasticizers.
(3) Protective colloid. The protective colloid is a layer of hydrophilic material coated on the surface of dispersible latex powder particles. Most of the protective colloid of redispersible emulsion powder is polyvinylalcohol.
(4) Additives (outside). In order to further improve the performance of the redispersible emulsion powder, other additives other than plasticizers are usually added, here called additives. Usually, a superplasticizer is added to the dispersible emulsion powder to improve the fluidity and dispersion of the emulsion.
(5) anti-caking agent. The anti-caking agent is usually a fine mineral filler, which acts to prevent the agglomeration of the emulsion powder during storage and transportation, and also helps the emulsion powder product to come out when it is dumped from the paper bag or tank truck.

After drying, the RDP/Redispersible Polymer Powder can form a continuous film (polymer network) which is insoluble in water. This low elastic modulus polymer network can improve the properties of cement. At the same time, some polar groups in polymer molecules react with cement hydration products to form a special bridge bond, improve the physical structure of cement hydration products, alleviate and reduce the generation of cracks. After the addition of redispersible emulsion powder, the initial hydration rate of cement is slowed down, and the polymer film can partially or completely cover the cement particles, so that the cement can be fully hydrated and its properties can be improved.
