RDP/VAE(Redispersible Polymer Powder/Redispersible Powder)
RDP (Redispersible Polymer Powder/Redispersible Powder) or VAE is a water-soluble re-dispersible powder. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It dissolves in water easily and forms emulsion quickly, RDP could offer strong adhesive and stretching force to improve the workability, flexibility and  water-proofing of the materials. Redispersible Polymer Powder is a kind of free-flowing white powder,which is spray-dryed by polymer emulsion and after subsequent treatment to keep the stability of powder appearance and character. The mainly application is in construction dry-mixed mortar,and have excellent performance in increasing the dry mortar cohesion,adhesion and flexibility.
The redispersible polymer powder(VAE) is a water-soluble re-dispersible powder. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It uses polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid. By adding re-dispersible latex powder, the performance of mortar with cement or gypsum as the substrate can meet the needs of various constructions.
RDP/Redispersible Polymer Powder is a commonly used organic cementation material, which is obtained by spray drying polymer emulsion such as polyvinyl alcohol to protect colloids, and this powder can be re-evenly dispersed in water after water to form emulsion. The addition of redispersible emulsion powder can improve the water retention performance of the newly mixed cement mortar, as well as the bonding property, flexibility, impermeability and corrosion resistance of the hardened cement mortar.
At present, the main applications of dispersible emulsion powder in the market are: Vinyl acetate and ethylene copolymer (VAC/E), vinyl vinyl chloride and vinyl laurate ternary copolymer (E/VC/VL), vinyl acetate and ethylene and higher fatty acid vinyl ester ternary copolymer (VAC/E/Veo Va), vinyl acetate homopolymer (PV) AC), styrene and butadiene copolymerization rubber powder (SBR), other binary and ternary copolymerization rubber powder, other formula rubber powder with functional additives, other formula rubber powder with functional additives and more than one kind of rubber powder, etc.

Applications and dosage
HEARST-503M is recommended to use in dry mixing mortar or powder construction material products, such as ceramic tile adhesive, tile grout, external wall insulation system (EIFS/ETICS), extrusion mortar for EPS component, waterproofing mortar, self-leveling mortar, repair mortar, decorative mortar, skim coat, fire-resistant mortar, sound insulation mortar, Joint compound, AAC adhesive, gypsum products, etc.
Normally recommended dosage is 0.5~5% in total formulation.

- In EIFS/ETICS formulation, is recommended to add 2~4% dosage of HEARST-503M, which can effectively improve the bonding strength, impact resistance and reduce water absorption.
- In skim coat formulation, is recommended to add 1~5% dosage of HEARST-503M, which can significantly reduce water absorption, improve the flexibility and bonding strength with the substrate.

Redispersible Polymer Powder RDP can improve adhesion,strength in bending,abrasion resistance,de-formability.It has good rheology and water retention,and can increase the sag resistance of tile adhesives,it can made up to tile adhesives with excellent non-slump properties and putty with good properties.
The purpose of redispersible emulsion powder in mortar is to improve the weaknesses of traditional cement mortar such as brittleness and high elastic modulus, and to give cement mortar good flexibility and tensile bond strength to resist and delay the formation of cracks in cement mortar. Due to the interpenetrating network structure between polymer and mortar, continuous polymer film is formed in the pores, which enhances the bond between aggregates. Some of the pores in the mortar are blocked, so the performance of the modified mortar after hardening is greatly improved than that of the cement mortar.
