RDP/VAE(Redispersible Polymer Powder/Redispersible Powder)
The redispersible polymer powder(VAE) is a water-soluble re-dispersible powder. It is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It uses polyvinyl alcohol as a protective colloid. By adding re-dispersible latex powder, the performance of mortar with cement or gypsum as the substrate can meet the needs of various constructions.
Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is spray dried re-dispersible polymer emulsion latex powder, designed for the construction industry to enhance the properties of dry mortar blends, able to Redispersible in water and react with hydrate product of cement / gypsum and stuffing, form composite membrane with good mechanics intensity. It improves the important application properties of dry mortars, like longer opening time, better adhesion with difficult substrates, lower water consumption.
Redispersible VAE powder HEARST-503M is a product made of vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) copolymer emulsion as the main component, via spay drying process into flowable white polymer powder, which can be widely used for dry mixed mortar or powder construction material products..

Applications and dosage


HEARST-503M is recommended to use in dry mixing mortar or powder construction material products, such as ceramic tile adhesive, tile grout, external wall insulation system (EIFS/ETICS), extrusion mortar for EPS component, waterproofing mortar, self-leveling mortar, repair mortar, decorative mortar, skim coat, fire-resistant mortar, sound insulation mortar, Joint compound, AAC adhesive, gypsum products, etc.
Normally recommended dosage is 0.5~5% in total formulation.

- In EIFS/ETICS formulation, is recommended to add 2~4% dosage of HEARST-503M, which can effectively improve the bonding strength, impact resistance and reduce water absorption.
- In skim coat formulation, is recommended to add 1~5% dosage of HEARST-503M, which can significantly reduce water absorption, improve the flexibility and bonding strength with the substrate.

Storage

-  HEARST-503M storage should protect from moisture.
-  At storage temperatures above 30ºC or under pressure during storage may cause HEARST-503M caking occurs.
-  If HEARST-503M is not used up after opening, it should be sealed in time and used as soon as possible.
-  The optimal service life of HEARST-503M is 6 montXDD, and the possibility of the product performances beyond the best use period will be reduced.
-  In order to ensure the best use effect of HEARST-503M, it is recommended to test the product's performances before use.
